Now that Monster Musume the anime is finally out.
I will now be taking bets to see how long it takes before the anime gets a callout post and how long it will take before some dumb drama happens cause of it.
Its so ridiculous to me when people bring social justice into anime. Like I highly doubt the authors were thinking any of the stuff you people talk about when they created the anime/characters.
Remember when people just enjoyed anime instead of bringing in social issues or talking about how “problematic” it is? Yeah let’s go back to that time.
Also since what we call anime is anything made in Japan, we can’t look at anime through a solely western cultural lens. We need to look at the through a lens that considers Japanese cultural as the major influence. What is “problematic” in the west may not “problematic” there.
Opening trailer for the new Touhou Fan Anime by circle Niikyouzou
So I dug up some info on this project and it goes like this for what I understand:
“The Chinese circle niikyouzou is currently working on a Touhou anime called ‘Touhou Hakureisou’. It apparently is going to be a slice-of-life anime set in an alternate universe, in which Gensokyo is an apartment complex, Reimu is the landlady, and the other usual characters are various residents.
The initial release will be of a comic with the main story, and a DVD containing this opening. The anime episode itself will be released at a later date.

The Alt-Right spawned on the internet, largely due to 4chan. 4chan loves anime. The internet right-wingers largely have their own subculture.
anime is also made in japan, a country that is, in its own way, quite socially conservative & quite nationalistic. this is reflected in a lot of anime shows.
in america meanwhile, most producers of media are extremely progressive, & the alternative tends to be preachy moralistic evangelical christian produced stuff, neither of which is very in line with most beliefs that fall under the ‘alt-right’ umbrella.
so a lot of people on the alt-right probably feel that japanese anime reflects their values better than american media.
or maybe theyre just a bunch of pervy dweebs who like anime tittays.
